Enjoy an exhilarating day out cycling on a dedicated route which is fully marked through the beautiful Dysynnii Valley near Tywyn in Snowdonia (view larger route map). The cycle route is full of interest, and is suitable for all the family.

In virtually traffic free countryside, enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife - a treat for all of your senses. Cycle through the tranquil green grazing pasture land ........ and just listen to the bubbling little streams and bird song.

For the relaxing sound of water maybe take a break by the waterfall.

If you feel up to a challenge perhaps stop for a cycling break and climb up the dramatic, craggy 'Bird Rock'. Look out for the rare inland colonies of Cormorants which nest on it's rugged peaks.

Other birds that you may see during your cycle ride include Buzzards and the Red Kite.

Castell y Bere

Perhaps take a picnic stop to absorb the atmosphere of the historical 'Castell y Bere'. Built by the Welsh Prince Llewelyn in the middle ages it was a last defence against the invading English until it fell in 1231.

If you have forgotten your picnic don't worry. In the little village of Abergynolwyn you can have a pub lunch, or an afternoon tea at the little village café. The restored 'Talyllyn Steam Railway' which use to transport slate to Tywyn also has a café at the station stop off point in the village.
